Le 21 février 2012, s’est tenu au Centre International de Conférence de Bamako, le Sommet YES de la Jeunesse sur l’Entrepreneuriat au Mali, sous la présidence de son excellence Monsieur Amadou Toumani TOURE, Président de la République, Chef de l’Etat, en présence :
- des Membres du Gouvernement ;
- des Membres du Corps Diplomatique et consulaire accrédité au Mali ;
- de Partenaires Techniques et Financiers ;
- du Président du Haut Conseil des Collectivités Territoriales ;
- du Président du Conseil National de la Jeunesse du Mali (CNJ-Mali) ;
- de Madame Poonam AHLUWALIA, la Présidente Mondiale de YES ;
- de Madame Fatim BASS, la Représentante de l’ACBF au Mali ;
- de Madame Lorraine, la Représentante de la CONFEJES ;
- du Secteur privé (Banques, Téléphonie, Organismes professionnels, etc.)
- des représentants du Sénégal, du Burkina Faso, du Togo, de cote d’Ivoire, du Liberia, d’Afrique du Sud.
Le Sommet a mobilisé prés de 3000 jeunes composés essentiellement de jeunes diplômés, d’étudiants, d’élèves, de jeunes entrepreneurs.
Les résultats liés aux objectifs spécifiques ont été largement atteints, à savoir :
- susciter chez les jeunes, le rêve d’une participation plus active au développement du Pays à travers la solution entrepreneuriale.
- procéder au lancement officiel de Youth Entreprise Generator ;
- présenter la première cohorte de 50 jeunes entrepreneurs et la remise de Mandat au Président de la République comme Parrain Mondial de Youth Entreprise Generator, par Madame Poonam Ahluwalia.
1. Cérémonie d’ouverture :
La cérémonie d’ouverture a été marquée par :
1.1. Le discours d’orientation du Ministre le Jeunesse et des Sports.
Le Ministre, dans son intervention a évoqué les difficultés d’emploi au Mali et la nécessité d’évoluer dans un éventail de partenariat élargi en vue de les juguler.
Il a insisté sur la mobilisation de la jeunesse malienne dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre des programmes et actions initiés par YES.
1.2. La présentation du panel sur la piste d’étonnants entrepreneurs du Mali.
Monsieur Aldjouma DAMA de YES a révélé au public trois étonnants entrepreneurs, aujourd’hui cités en exemple :
o Madame Souadou DIABATE Promotrice du Centre de Foot Ball For Youth. Ce centre forme aujourd’hui 200 jeunes filles footballeuses ;
o Monsieur Bassidi KONE, Promoteur de l’Ecole Privée "la Plume". Partie d’une école de Base, "la Plume" compte aujourd’hui une école fondamentale et un Lycée ;
o Monsieur Sékou TRAORE, artiste plasticien, évoluant dans la récupération d’objets usagés.
A la suite du témoignage de ces étonnants entrepreneurs, le Président du Conseil National de la Jeunesse du Mali, dans son intervention a exhorté les futurs jeunes entrepreneurs à s’inspirer de cet exemple.
1.3. La présentation de YES:
Monsieur Kalilou DAMA, YES Country Leader Mali et Madame Poonam AHLUWALIA, Présidente mondiale de YES se sont succédés sur le podium pour présenter l’organisation internationale et développer le thème « Du défi au rêve ».
1.4. La présentation de l’ACBF
Madame Fatim Basse MAYAKI de l’African Capacity Building Foundation a dans une très riche intervention établi un lien entre la volonté et la capacité a travers le thème « du rêve a la réalité »
1.5. La présentation de la 1ère Cohorte de Générateurs d’entreprises au Président de la République.
Le Ministre de l’Emploi et de la Formation Professionnelle a présenté ce contingent composé de 50 jeunes filles et garçons au Chef de l’Etat.
Celui-ci avec les exemples à l’appui a évoqué toute l’importance de l’entrepreneuriat/jeunes dans l’auto-emploi et le développement.
1.6. La remise du prix au Président de la République :
Le Président de la République a reçu des mains de Madame Poonam AHLUWALIA un globe terrestre a titre de mandat de Parrain mondial du projet Youth Enterprise Generator.
1.7. Le discours de lancement du Président de la République :
La cérémonie a pris fin par le lancement de YES au Mali par le Président de la République.
Dans son intervention, le Chef de l’Etat a salué l’arrivée de Yes au Mali et la disponibilité de la Représentante Mondiale à accompagner les politiques d’emploi des jeunes au Mali. Il a réitéré la disponibilité du Gouvernement malien à apporter toute l’assistance nécessaire en vue de l’atteinte des objectifs.
2. YES Entrepreneurship Cafe :
Apres le départ du Président, les travaux se sont poursuivis avec 250 participants.
Les jeunes ont activement participé a cette session relativement a leurs idées de projets, aux opportunités d’affaires et divers aspects de leurs vies d’aujourd’hui et de demain.
A des présentations et réflexions ont succédé des débats fructueux, au cours desquels, les futurs jeunes entrepreneurs ont été suffisamment édifiés de ce qu’ils doivent entreprendre dans le cadre de Youth Entreprise Generator.
Les idées de projet présentées sont de divers domaines comme l’agro business, l’alimentation, la restauration, l’esthétique, l’éducation, l’environnement…
3. Le panel sur l’entrepreneuriat au Mali :
Composé du :
- Directeur National de la Jeunesse ;
- Directeur Général de l’APEJ ;
- Directeur National Adjoint de l’Emploi ;
- Directeur de 4E Conform.
Ce panel a présenté l’entrepreneuriat comme issue à la question du chômage des Jeunes par la recherche des opportunités, le respect des engagements, la recherche des informations, la fixation des objectifs, la planification et le suivi systématique, la confiance en soit, la demande de qualité et d’efficacité.
Les caractéristiques d’un entrepreneur ont été présentées par Monsieur Sidiki KONATE, Consultant à l’UNESCO.
4. Présentation du Plan d’Affaires du GENERATOR
A ce panel a succédé la présentation par Monsieur Dramane COULIBALY, Directeur de l’Institut National de la Jeunesse et des Sports, des points clés du Plan d’Affaires de Youth Entreprise Generator.
5. La cérémonie de clôture :
Le Sommet a pris fin par le discours du Ministre de la Jeunesse et des Sports, représentant madame le Premier Ministre, Chef du Gouvernement. Dans son intervention, le Ministre a exprimé toute sa satisfaction par rapport aux résultats immenses obtenus. Il s’est engagé à apporter l’accompagnement du Département de la Jeunesse et des Sports dans la mise en œuvre des programmes et actions de Yes au Mali.
Il a invité les jeunes du Mali à saisir cette opportunité d’emploi conformément à l’esprit du Sommet des Chefs d’Etat tenu en 2011 à Malabo (Guinée Equatoriale).
REPORT OF THE YES SUMMIT ON YOUTH ENTERPRENEURSHIP IN MALI
Introduction
On February 21, 2012, was held at the International Conference Center of Bamako, the YES Youth Summit on Entrepreneurship in Mali, under the presidency of His Excellency AMADOU TOUMANI TOURE, President of the Republic, Head of State, in the presence of:
- Members of the Government;
- Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps accredited in Mali;
- The technical and financial partners;
- President of the High Council of Local Governments;
- The President of the National Youth Council of Mali (Mali-NYC);
- Mrs. POONAM AHLUWALIA, Global President of YES;
- Mrs. FATIM BASS MAYAKE, the ACBF Representative;
- Mrs. Lorraine, the Representative of CONFEJES;
- Private Sector (Banks, Telephony Companies, Professional Bodies, ...)
- Representatives of Senegal, Burkina Faso, Togo, Ivory Coast, Liberia, South Africa.
The Summit brought together nearly 3,000 young people mainly consisting of graduates, students, pupils, young entrepreneurs.
Outcomes related to specific objectives were largely achieved, namely:
- To encourage young people, to dream of a more active development of the country through the entrepreneurial solution.
- To officially launch the Youth Enterprise Generator;
- To introduce the first cohort of 50 young enterprise generators and deliver the award of the President of the Republic as global patron of Youth Enterprise Generator, by Mrs. POONAM AHLUWALIA.
1- Opening Ceremony:
The opening ceremony was marked by:
1.1. The address of the Minister of Youth and Sports:
The Minister in his speech referred to the difficulties of employment in Mali and the need to move in a range of broader partnership to the curb.
He emphasized the mobilization of Malian youth through the implementation of programs and actions initiated by YES.
1.2. The presentation of the panel “On the trail of amazing entrepreneurs in Mali”.
Mr. DAMA ALDJOUMA of YES team revealed to the public three amazing entrepreneurs, today cited as examples:
o Mrs. SOUADOU DIABATE Promoter of Centre for Youth Foot-Ball. This center trains more than 200 girls soccer players today;
o Mr. BASSIDI KONE, Promoter of the Private School " La Plume" which rose from a school of Base, to extend to compound of elementary school and high school;
o Mr. SEKOU TRAORE, visual artist, living in the recovery of used objects.
Following the testimony of these amazing entrepreneurs, the President of the National Youth Council of Mali, in his speech urged future young entrepreneurs to learn from these examples.
1.3. The presentation of YES:
Mr. KALILOU DAMA, YES Country Leader of Mali and Mrs. POONAM AHLUWALIA, Global President of YES have followed on the podium to present the international organization and to develop the theme "From challenge to dream."
1.4. The presentation of the ACBF
Ms. FATIM BASSE MAYAKE of the African Capacity Building Foundation had a very rich intervention linked the willingness and ability through the theme "the dream to reality"
1.5. The presentation of the first cohort of enterprise generators to the President of the Republic:
The Minister of Employment and Vocational Training has introduced the contingent of 50 boys and girls to the Head of State.
Referring to the mentioned examples he focused on the importance of youth entrepreneurship in self-employment and development.
1.6. The delivery of award to the President of the Republic:
The President of the Republic received from the hands of Ms POONAM AHLUWALIA a globe as Global Godfather award of Youth Enterprise Generator project.
1.7. The speech of launch of the President of the Republic:
The ceremony ended by the launch of YES in Mali by the President of the Republic.
In his speech the Head of State welcomed the arrival of Yes in Mali and the availability of the Global president to accompany the Youth employment policies in Mali. He reiterated the availability of the Malian Government to provide all necessary assistance to achieve the objectives.
2- YES Entrepreneurship Cafe
After the departure of President, the activities continued with 250 participants.
Young people have actively participated in this session relative to their project ideas, business opportunities and various aspects of their lives today and tomorrow.
Presentations and reflections were followed by successful discussions, during which, the future young entrepreneurs were sufficiently edified by what they have to undertake as part of Youth Enterprise Generator.
Project ideas have been presented in various fields such as agribusiness, food, catering, aesthetics, education, and environment...
3- The entrepreneurship panel in Mali:
Composed of:
- National Director of Youth;
- Director of APEJ (youth employment promotion agency);
- Deputy National Director of Employment;
- Director of 4E Conform (a consulting firm).
This panel introduced entrepreneurship as a solution to the problem of unemployment of youth through seeking of opportunities and informations, respect of commitments, goal setting, planning and systematic monitoring, self-confidence, and quality and efficiency request.
The characteristics of an entrepreneur were presented by Mr. SIDIKI KONATE, Consultant to UNESCO.
4- Presentation of Generator Business Plan
This panel presentation was followed by the intervention of Mr. DRAMANE COULIBALY, Director of the National Institute of Youth and Sports, who presented the key points of the Business Plan of Youth Enterprise Generator.
5- The closing ceremony:
The summit ended with the speech of the Minister of Youth and Sports, representing the Honorable Prime Minister, Head of Government. In his speech, the Minister expressed his satisfaction with the obtained results. He committed to providing the accompaniment of the Department of Youth and Sports in the implementation of programs and actions of Yes in Mali.
He invited the young people of Mali to take this employment opportunity in the spirit of the Summit of Heads of State held in 2011 in Malabo (Equatorial Guinea).
